Job Summary:

The Junior Information Security Analyst supports the organization’s Information Security and Cybersecurity posture by assisting in monitoring, analyzing, and improving security controls across the MTS environment.
This role is entry to mid-level and focuses on learning, supporting daily security operations, and assisting senior team members in identifying vulnerabilities, investigating alerts, and implementing security best practices.
The incumbent will work closely with internal IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective handling of security-related tasks while developing technical and analytical skills in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring security tools and systems to detect and respond to alerts.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and basic security reviews.
  • Assist in analyzing security threats and incidents under supervision.
  • Help in reviewing application security practices and identifying basic gaps.
  • Support Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) activities.
  • Work with Application Engineering teams to follow secure coding practices.
  • Assist in reviewing user access and supporting access control processes.
  • Participate in incident response activities and documentation.
  • Support preparation of security reports and dashboards.
  • Help maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives and training programs.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations Center (SOC) in monitoring and initial analysis of alerts.
  • Stay updated on basic cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Follow documented procedures to support incident handling and remediation activities.

Qualifications:
 
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT or Information Security (internships count).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Entry-level certifications are a plus (e.g., Security+, CEH, eJPT).
  • Willingness to pursue advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP) in the future.
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT or Information Security (internships count).
  • Basic understanding of Information Security concepts and principles.
  • Familiar with OWASP Top 10 (basic knowledge).
  • Basic knowledge of SAST / DAST concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Familiar with general IT infrastructure (networks, systems).
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST – awareness level).
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the cybersecurity field.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
